An exploration of natural dyeing using local, tannin-rich plants. Discover a variety of native plants that can be used for dyes, learn how to create dye baths, sample shades from each plant, and play with dyeing techniques including painting over-dyed fabric with iron sulfate or rust. All materials provided including a bandana and your choice of tee/top from Honest Cotton to dye. This 4-hour workshop is taught by master Guatemalan artisan, Olga Reiche, whose naturally-dyed garments have been featured in Harper’s Bazaar and Vogue México.
