CURRENT EXHIBITIONS

EARTH ALCHEMY
September 14 – October 26, 2024

A story about process. Featuring new work by earth pigment painters, Danielle Hutchens and Ryan Snow. In parallel practices, these artists have mastered "turning rocks into gold" in a figurative and literal sense. Foraging in nature, laboriously grinding up and refining earth pigments, and patiently applying color to canvas, are some of the steps that go into creating paintings that are as much about the process as the finished piece. In Danielle's abstract works, the viewer recognizes the shapes of nature emerging from subtle layers of color, playfully nodding to inspiration from the natural world. Ryan's paintings are focused and calm, alchemizing the chaos of everyday life into zen-like clarity. This show is a template for intentionality. Mindfulness permeates the space. Reverence for the earth grounds the felt experience.
